Dirk years ago I listened to have mercy, then lost track of them, only to come back to them when they were touring with a few other great acts (tiny moving parts, broadside, real friends) and be more appreciative and in awe than ever Favorite track: Level Head.

Jared Kughn I found Have Mercy because they will be going on tour with Real Friends. Honestly, they deserve more recognition. The lyrics are great and they are instrumental good as well. Favorite track: Let's Talk About Your Hair.

Track Name: Level Head
It was something I’d never seen
Sitting, reading these year old magazines
In a house with you
You love to laugh and tell me dreams
Of who you are who you want to be
But I had no clue

But I’m thinking if the world does end
You’ll talk to me I’ll be you ear to lend
Cause you were mine when I called you at 4am
I’m saying I wonder what it’s like when we’re both dead
I always need to keep a level head

I always think about where we’ll be
In 20 years and if you’ll marry me
I had no clue
When you were drunk you told me dreams
Of who you are and who you want to be
And I had no clue
That hold in heaven was a void that filled you

Oh our of everyone I’ve known
I should’ve not left you alone
Track Name: Ancient West
It’s been weeks since I’ve seen a real smile
Oh I know I won’t see it for a while
I’ve counted inches from your yard to my door
And I want nothing more than to know for sure

It’s been weeks since I’ve heard a good thought
I’m telling secrets about the lies that you bought
You used to love to hear me sing
And we would talk about everything
It was beautiful to me

I don’t want to be him anymore

Maybe I’ll hear your voice in a crowded room
Picture us one day a bride and a groom
He’ll walk in and I bet he will too
Does he feel the way I felt about you

I muttered something quiet under my breath
Then he quickly grabbed his coat and his chest
I don’t know how much time is left
So hang your head and pray for the best

Keep me up and tell me every fear
When you were young the days passed like years
Between the booze and the “remember whens”
I’m tell all the same stories again

You pray to him he is a god to you
But does he hold your head and hear your blues?
I won’t be the one who makes you choose
And give up everything that you can’t lose
Old notions from the ancient west
They hang your head and pray for the best
So hang your head and pray for the best
Track Name: Hell
You laid there shaking on the bed
Forgot what everybody said
I don’t think of you or any lie you fed
It was all in your head
Now it’s all in my head

You laid there trembling on the floor
Forgot what all of this was for
Now I don’t think of you at every close door
Anymore

When you came back from hell
Your eyes were filled with fear
I’ve got this old note saying
“I wish you were here”

when you came back from hell
your eyes were filled with fear
I’ve got these five words saying
“I wish you were here”

if you could have it your way
you would’ve been the one who left that day
to all my friends who wished that I could’ve sayed
you don’t want me
so I’m gonna find someone who may
to say
Track Name: This Old Ark
Well I don’t know where the time goes
But I remember what you said
And every single feeling’s dead
Every word sounds more absurd
Faith and comedy could heal the hurt
Versus drug out through some Christian dirt

Am I everything you wanted?
Am I everything you never had?
I thought it was strange
How they kept me in the dark
Shouting “one day young boy you’ll be a man and you’ll
Be guiding this old ark. You’ve got a lonely heart.”
Oh but a lonely heart

Facing me
A false belief
And I never thought the books I read
Would make me who I want to be

I never knew how much I'd miss it till it's gone
I still listen to your favorite songs
Wishing you were in my arms
Track Name: Weak at the Knees
I called you up, just where have you been
I'm just waiting for our lives to begin
No one wants you the way that I want you
When no one wants you
Can you say you want me too?

Why won't she go home?
I have you on the other telephone?
Cause no one, no one can do the things you do
Say the three words that I just want you to
I need you

We laughed in the sun, we laid in the grass
I felt your earth pushing back, it pushed back
What you don't know, don't know
Is you're gone and I'm home
But I'm all alone
And everybody knows what comes after

We laughed in the sun, we laid in the grass
I felt your earth pushing back, pushing back
What you don't know, don't know
Is you're gone and I'm home
But I'm all alone
And everybody sung from the rafters

I want you weak at the knees
Track Name: Let's Talk About Your Hair
We went to bed that night and
dreamed of better things
A God, a devil and me
And how you lost your wings
I always wonder when you stopped loving me
But I can't see clearly

But I know that you know that I know that you don't really care
Let's talk about your hair and how it's grown and how we know that we're not getting anywhere
Nothing is what it seems
Tell me about the man of your dreams and is it me?

We went to bed that night and
dreamed of better things
A God, a devil and me
And how you lost your wings

But I know that you know that I know that you don't really care
Let's talk about your hair and how it's grown and how we know that we're not getting anywhere
Track Name: Cigarettes and Old Perfume
Cigarettes and old perfume
The long nights I spend in your room
I'm simply calling cause we're okay
I think it's better off this way
Without you

It's like you never found your way
Your way back home
I could name off the things you lack
But I want you back

Tell me you've been thinking of me

Cigarettes and old perfume
The long nights I spend in your room
I'm simply calling cause we're okay
I think it's better off this way
Without you

Tell me you've been thinking of me
Your words were hard to beat
Ten words and seven sheets
Tell me are you thinking of me?
Track Name: The Gates
You held her and said

"I'm not worthy but I'll try to be a better man"
"If you don't have the time then leave I've been waiting
all year for something that was never really here"

"Well you were never really here"

Your nose and your throat and
everything that's in between
Two eyes just like mine a pair I wish I could've seen
The times you were the best you could be with me
We were never meant to be we were happening
You're a shallow hole and everyone can see

If I called you now
would you be there to answer me?
Cause I don't know if I would answer you
When I cross the gates and I find you

Remember you said

You're so nervous you're so tired
Cheap talk, unsteady walk,
for such a pretty liar
Finding old souls to cast a mold
and then set fire

And if you want
I could take you higher and higher

I don't know what I've been told
The road I walked was paved with gold
But oh, you didn't want to go

Now I don't know if I would answer you
When I cross the gates and I find you
Track Name: Living Dead
Found out when my ears set flame
Little nothings to a worn out brain
You thought I was someone you knew
Looking down to me from your balcony view

I didn't we would still be there
All nighters and our minds to share
I know it more than I ever thought I would
And if I stay then will you stay?
I know you should

We're done for good and we're good as dead
Where you sleep is where I plan to make my bed
I've got a song that belongs on your right arm
I need to know what you feel and if you mean no harm

Talks and sleeps in each others arms
No big plans just false alarms
When I got there it looked better than it could
And I'll stay if you stay
I know you should

Say you won't but I know you will
Wasted nights for me always end in a cheap thrill
I've waited 22 years to find something real
So tell me where to go, you shouldn't leave alone
You are young and bold with a heart of gold

So rest and peace for the living dead
And where you sleep is where I plan to make my bed
I've got a song that belongs on your right arm
I need to know what you feel and
if you mean no harm
Track Name: When I Sleep
All of our lives turn to black
And there's no turning back
But you, you are the best thing that I've ever had
And we, we were not that bad
No one knows the inside jokes or fun we had
And we, we were not that bad

You said that you would be there when I sleep
So why are you not next to me?

Why are you not next to me?

Cause heaven is the one that i've never had
And we, we were not that bad
No one knows the inside jokes or fun we had
And we, we were not that bad

You said that you would be there when I dream
So why were you not next to me?
